There is no union outside of us and our coworkers. Everything we have accomplished is because grad workers organized and fought for it. We can only secure and expand our rights if people stay involved and informed, and that can look different for each individual. Whether that means coming to General Members Meetings where we make our highest level decisions or joining committees to get involved with day-to-day tasks of running this union and organizing, we’re excited to have you! Learn more about the types of work that we do as a union below.

Graduate school can often be an isolating experience. Organizing for GSU connects you to a larger community of fellow grad workers all working towards a common goal to protect the rights of every grad worker on campus. We also do fun things! GSU hosts parties and events so we can all let loose and meet new people. We’ve hosted art builds, tie dye and screen printing parties. Start building your community today!

TYPES OF WOrk

There’s a lot of work that members can do. There are plenty of things that don’t fall into these buckets, and members are free and empowered to do the kind of work they’re most excited by.

You can put in as much work as you want and still be a valued member of the union. No matter how much or how little you do, this union works for you.
